Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Energy System Governance team – to lead the commercial workstream of the Future System Operator (FSO) project.
Government is creating a public sector body, the FSO, to perform critical roles for the delivery of the UK’s net zero strategy. The core roles of the FSO currently form part of National Grid plc, principally the Electricity System Operator (ESO). The ESO is responsible for balancing the supply and demand in the electricity system. It also plans the energy network and the FSO will also take on long-term gas network planning roles.
The Government has introduced an Energy Bill which will enable the new body to be established. The acquisition of the ESO is a critical part of the project.
