Job Responsibilities:
The Director of Finance role is a newly created role which will lead and deliver the financial strategy of the Council to ensure long term financial sustainability. In this role you will be responsible for the Council’s strategic financial framework, linking the Wirral Plan, the medium-term financial plan and service plans together to deliver a financially viable model of service delivery for the Council. You will lead on identifying opportunities for maximising income generation and playing a vital role in the successful delivery of the Council’s commercial strategy. As the Section 151 Officer, providing strategic and professional financial advice to Elected Members and senior officers on all key decisions, and driving significant organisational change through the Council’s Senior Leadership team will also be a key part of this exciting role.
