Job Responsibilities:

Deputise for the Head of Current Operations where necessary and support with developing contingency plans for our service.
Support, lead, and develop the team of Operational and Customer Information controllers, ensuring that the team deliver consistently high-quality customer experience, operational safety and performance.
Positively liaise and engage with stakeholders both internal and external, to streamline processes and work collaboratively to deliver and maintain excellent levels of customer service, and identify and improve customer information.
This will include resolving any issues and rebuilding normal services as quickly as possible following disruption of any kind, where you will be required to use your initiative and operational experience to manage processes that deliver to the standards defined by the Rail Delivery Group (RDG)..

Job Requirements:

Expert knowledge of computer based and train resource systems
Experience of developing and managing a team, with demonstratable effective people management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Rules & Regulations, Fleet route availability, Traincrew conditions of service and Diesel Multiple Unit characteristics and instructions
Experience and knowledge of the Railway industry structure and good railway geographical knowledge including operating/safety procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to produce high quality letters/reports
Ability to train and assess others competently and consistently (TAQA/NVQ trained to D32/33/34).
